Iredell Council On Aging

The Iredell Council on Aging (ICOA) was organized in April 1973. The agency is a non-profit organization devoted to improving the quality of life and maintaining independent living for individuals age 60 or better.  The ICOA offices are located within the Iredell Senior Center facility on East Front Street in Statesville.  There is no set fee for services, but clients are asked to make a contribution to a cost-sharing program based on their income.  Also, the Iredell Senior Center in Statesville and South Iredell Senior Center in Mooresville offer a wide range of health, education, recreation, and social activities for older adults. Congregate Meals - The nutrition programs help meet the nutritional needs of older adults in Iredell County. The Congregate (group) sites are located at:

Participants enjoy activities, fellowship and a hot lunch. Popular programs include: Card Games-Skip-Bo, Mexican Train-Dominos, Chair Exercise, Walking, Bingo, Guest Presenters from various agencies sharing educational and informative information. Special occasions and holidays are marked with music and other festivities.
